U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince publishes statement on November 9 limiting travel for personnel

On November 9 the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince published a statement announcing travel restrictions for staff due to potential security incidents, including roadblocks, demonstrations and sporadic violence. Embassy personnel is prohibited from traveling within Haiti beyond a 15-mile radius of the embassy without prior approval.


Those traveling or operating in Haiti are advised to avoid non-essential travel to Haiti due to the worsening security situation.
